Information for Funding Requests
The May Court Club,
founded in 1898, has a long history of providing volunteer services
and financial assistance to other charitable organizations in the
Ottawa region. The Club's main purpose has always been the support
of social services, education and health-related issues with particular
emphasis in the following areas:
- High risk children and teens
- Literacy
- Nutrition
- Palliative and respite care
- Services for the disabled
- Services for seniors
- Single mothers and their children
- Women’s health
Our aim is to provide assistance
to smaller organizations in the local community who may not have
access to professional fund raising resources.
Eligibility
Grants are
made to organizations recognized by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency
as registered charities.
Organizations must be based in Ottawa
or the projects must benefit residents of the local community.
Restrictions
The Club will not consider requests for:
- Deficit reduction
- Fundraising events
- Individuals
- On-going operating expenses (e.g. rent, salaries, fees)
- Partisan political or religious activities
Grants are awarded from funds accumulated
through fund raising projects such as special events, and from funds from the Club’s
endowment and investment income.
Applications are reviewed three times
a year and must be received no later than 3 p.m. on the deadline
dates of and March 1st, September 1st and November 1st (grants
under $5,000 only). Faxed or emailed
applications are not accepted.
