THE MAY COURT CLUB OF OTTAWA
The May Court Club of Ottawa is the oldest women's volunteer organization in Canada. The Club has more than 280 members and it provides vital volunteer and financial assistance to the community. Over
20,000 hours are contributed to the Ottawa-Carleton community each
year by May Court Club members.
Since the Club's establishment
in 1898, it has evolved from a group of women "with leisure
opportunities" to a multi-faceted volunteer organization. The
Club's membership has expanded to include both professional business
women as well as those whose careers are in the home.

The May Court Club of Ottawa is a member
of the Association of May Court Clubs of Canada which accounts for
over 1,600 women in the volunteer labour force in Ontario. From
Windsor to Brockville, May Court volunteers gave more than 60,000
hours to their communities last year alone, raising over $621,000
through a wide variety of fundraising projects. All in all, almost
$1 million in financial aid was distributed to a variety of community
programs throughout Ontario.
